Best & Worst Drivers

The UK's Best and Worst Drivers: Our Data Unveils the Safest Drivers and Those Falling Behind Nationwide

Using sales data from our branches across the UK, we’ve uncovered the top 10 best and worst regions for drivers. With a little help from Reaz, our on-hand seasoned mechanic with 17 years of experience, we’ve zeroed in on the sales figures across the nation for car parts that take the most hits in accidents—think steering and suspension components, brakes, and bodywork.

Safety first!

Leading the pack in safety are London drivers, with just 29.96% of car part sales in the capital being crash-related, suggesting fewer accidents occur in the capital compared to other regions.

Hot on their heels are Cardiff (30.33%) and Leicester (31.25%), both boasting impressively low percentages of crash-related sales.

The accident-prone zone
On the flip side, Durham leads the pack with the highest percentage of crash-related car part sales at 45.35%, making it the hotspot for accidents. Sunderland (45.25%) and Belfast (44.77%) aren’t far behind, showing they’re also dealing with their fair share of road challenges.

Reaz, our expert mechanic, gives us the lowdown on which car parts most often get banged up in accidents. “In our accident repair centre, we often see damage to suspension components, brakes, and body and chassis parts.”

He says, “Shock absorbers and arms are commonly affected by collisions, while brake systems and structural damage are frequent in more severe accidents."

Whether you’re driving through the safe streets of London or tackling the roads in Durham, it’s clear that every region has its own driving challenges. Keep your car in good shape, drive safely, and maybe next year your area will move up in the rankings! Stay tuned for more insights and tips to help you stay safe on the road!
